Sabbath Day Worship

God has a way of reminding me the importance of a Sabbath day of worship. Especially when I travel. I have had numerous experiences in Chicago, Hollywood, New York and today in Washington DC. I was pleased to see that there was a worship service for The Church of Jesus Christ of Lattee Day Saints on today's schedule. It was at 7:00 AM, but we gratefully attended after only 5 hours of sleep. I felt the spirit and I was grateful I didn't have to find a ward in a city I don't know, with transit I don't know. Then some friends said they were still going to the closest sacrament service. As much as I wanted to check the box and count that 7:00 AM meeting, I went with them. We went three metro stops. We met other church attendees on the metro. Walked three blocks (in heat, humidity, and dripping with sweat) with 7 teenagers carrying their scriptures headed to the same place and found this beautiful building, only 25 minutes later.

I was already "full" when we sat down. Grateful I had made the sacrifice of my meetings to just been where I needed to be. And then a speaker shared a story that filled my soul and got her approval to use it in my book. And then the feeling that the Bishop I had been staring at was in FACT familiar and I couldn't push aside the feeling anymore that I DID know him. Bishop Jackson is my second cousin.

Time and time again, I learn that we get out of things what we put into them. When we seek good, we find it. When we want something good to come into our lives, we do our part, work hard and goals are fulfilled. When we seek connection to our source, make some effort, we can feel the spirit of God in our lives.
